- Windows 95 DOES NOT support RPI (or WinRPI) modems whatever. In fact, I
- HAVE NEVER used, recommended, or WILL recommend an RPI or WinRPI
- modem to ANYONE, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! In fact, I will ONLY recommend
- HARDWARE compression and error-correction (despite good
- experiences with the first program to implement MNP5 in software,
- MTEZ, (later WordPerfect CommWorks) with an old Anchor 2400 internal).
- Also, even V.34 modems with both error-detection and compression in
- HARDWARE (as opposed to RPI/WinRPI) have gone down to less than $150
- (Zoom V34I internal) for higher-end Rockwell-chipset-based modems, and
- even less for some Flash-ROM-based upgradeables (Cardinal's MVP34i comes quickly
- to mind; flash-upgradable, but priced like a Zoom. This has led to a rather
- troublesome problem for retailers - they can't keep them in stock!).

- RPI/WinRPI stinks so bad, I wouldn't even recommend them to an ENEMY...........
